The following is researched information on Asthma and Allergies. Asthma and Allergies go
together hand in hand. According to a study done by the Center For Disease Control And
Prevention, they found digestive allergies have increased between 1997 and 2007. Food and
digestive allergies involve over 60 percent of the population. Today, it is estimated that 20
percent of American children have food and digestive allergies.
Ninety percent of food and digestive allergies are from the following foods: eggs, milk, fish,
shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, corn and wheat. The other ten percent of food and digestive
allergies comes from fruit juices, cocoa powder; such as chocolate and tap water, which
has chlorine, fluoride and pesticides.
Approximately 11 billion pounds of pesticides are used every year and the residue lasts for
days and even years. Pesticides are in our environment including the air, soil and water.
To help Asthma and Allergies, limit the following in the diet: eggs, milk, fish, shellfish,
peanuts, tree nuts, soy, corn and wheat. It's best to buy foods that contain less eggs, milk, fish,
shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, corn and wheat. Research studies have been done on tap water,
and since it contains chlorine, fluoride and pesticides, it is a good idea to buy bottled drinking
water, which uses reverse osmosis. To lessen food and digestive allergies, it is very important to
read the labels, when buying food and drinking water. Since fruits and vegetables contain
pesticides, use a "Fruit and Vegetable Wash" by massaging and rubbing fruits and vegetables for
thirty seconds and then rinse them off. Peeling off the skin of apples, cucumbers and potatoes
before eating and cooking them is also a good idea. One other option is to buy 100 percent
organic fruits and vegetables. To save when buying organic food, just buy what you need, buy
in bulk or buy organic frozen fruits and vegetables, which last longer. Another option is to grow
your own fruits and vegetables without using any pesticides. All of these things will help lessen
food and digestive allergies.
My kids and I both have food allergies to eggs, milk, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, soy,
corn and wheat and have had allergy symptoms. Asthma and Allergy symptoms include:
problems with breathing, wheezing, coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, eczema, skin rashes, eye
irritations, etc. Since we were diagnosed with food allergies, I decided to do something about it.
By making some minor changes, such as buying less of the foods we are allergic to and massaging and rubbing fruits and vegetables with a fruit and vegetable wash for thirty seconds and then
rinsing them off, my kids and I have been able to live our lives with less of the allergy symptoms
mentioned before. In addition, we take an Acidophilus or Probiotic tablet or capsule once a week,
so there is good bacteria in the digestive tract, which helps make the immune system strong and
helps to digest nutrients. A few of us eat Activia yogurt, too. Making these minor changes have
made a big difference in our lives.

A research study was done with fruit flies and organic food. The fruit flies, which ate
organic foods did better, lived longer, laid more eggs, resisted stress better and acted livelier
compared to the fruit flies, which ate regular grown fruits and vegetables.
Researchers at Washington State University found organic strawberries to have more Vitamin
C and antioxidants compared to conventional strawberries. Also, organic tomatoes have been
found to have higher levels of Vitamin C and phytochemicals compared to conventional tomatoes
done by a study at the University Of California.
Everyone is affected by pesticides in different ways. Make a safe choice and buy organic,
use a "Fruit and Vegetable Wash" or grow your own fruits and vegetables. It's best to make safe
choices. It's important to make smart choices when shopping and preparing food.
This is a valuable, long-term health plan for all of us to follow for good health.
